ALAN THOMSON - HOUSE ENGINEERAlan hails from Bristol and came to London to do his degree in Commercial Music at the University of Westminster. A Pro Tools user for over 10 years, he is also proficient with most other music software, and as a musician himself (he is an accomplished keyboard player and singer), has a natural feel for acoustic recording. He was the shop manager of London's Turnkey music technology store for several years, and his engineering credits include Algorhythm Records, Nashi Media, Hayes FM, Seeing Scarlet, Schtarlings, Early Year and Transistor State. Alan played a big part in the installation and setup of the studio, and as such has an intimate knowledge of its innermost workings. And he makes an excellent White Russian.

JAMES APARICIO - SENIOR ENGINEERJames is a graduate of the Gateway School of Recording – soon after completing the course he was recruited by Mute Records to work as an assistant in their in-house studio working alongside world-renowned engineers and producers - within a year he was promoted to house engineer. Since the studios were closed following the sale of Mute, he has kept busy as a freelance engineer, and now also at The Limehouse. His credits include Depeche Mode, Goldfrapp, Nick Cave, Mogwai, Erasure, Moby, Katie Melua, Death Cab For Cutie, Craig David, Tinchy Strider, Liars, XX Teens and Polly Scattergood. James also runs his own label – Disc Error Recordings.

NEIL WILLIAMS - SENIOR ENGINEER, MUSICIAN & PRODUCERNeil is a multi-talented musician, engineer and producer. His musical life began at the age of 10 when he played his first note on the trombone; he discovered he had a prodigious talent (and perfect pitch) and became a member of the National Youth Orchestra within just 18 months. Soon after, he picked up the bass guitar and piano and went on to play and arrange for NYJO (National Youth Jazz Orchestra). Neil won a scholarship to Chetham's School of Music, and remains the youngest ever entrant to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. His love of the recording studio also started at an early age and has never left him, although he is still rated as one of the country's finest bassists. Credits include Simply Red, Vanessa Mae, Ray Davies, Ministry of Sound, Talking Loud, Gerard Presencer, Barbara Thompson, Debbie Wiseman, the SampleLab series of sound libraries, music for television including Kodak, Star Stories, Dispatches and CNN, and his own 'Mighty Strinth' project. In his spare time he continues to work on matters of international importance under the auspices of The Experimental Sausage Company.

NICK THOMAS - TRAINING & TECH SUPPORTNick – who also set up the studio's computers - has had a long and varied career in the music technology industry. With a background in audio engineering at The Townhouse, Manor and Chappell recording studios, he has worked with a wide range of artists including Peter Gabriel, Neil Innes, Joe Pass and Frank Zappa, and wrote music for Channel 4's Comic Strip Presents series. He was technical director of Media Tools, at the time the UK's largest retailer of music technology equipment, and is currently providing training and installation services for a number of companies including Avid, Digidesign, Sibelius and Moog. Recent clients include RTÉ – Dublin, Al Jazeera – Qatar, TF1 – Paris, YLE – Helsinki, Royal Academy of Music, The Musicians Union and the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. RUPERT PFAFF - STUDIO MANAGERRupert is a classical percussionist by training, having been a music scholar at Bryanston School and a member of the National Youth Orchestra - he is still persuaded to lay down the odd shaker track on request! After completing a BSc in Music at City University, he worked as a freelance engineer for a short period before becoming manager of London's Turnkey music store for many years preceding the sale of the business to a competitor – this gave him the opportunity to audition a huge range of equipment before deciding what to equip the studio with. He now works mostly for the Thomann empire, but has always kept his hand in as an engineer, particularly on the contemporary classical scene, working with artists and composers such as Steve Martland, Dave Maric, Collin Currie and Haken Hardenberger. In addition to his degree, Rupert also has a Cycling Proficiency award and several swimming badges.

LEILA MUTASA - ADMINISTRATORAs well as looking after bookings and ensuring you have everything you need for your session, Leila is an accomplished Drum & Bass producer and DJ under the 'Detour' moniker. She is also a painter, and for those rare musicians amongst you who are interested in fitness, she offers personal training services in London – now sweat!
